June 2007 - DESSERT WINE TRILOGY - Our passion, your pleasure
Ngatarawa could well be the most dedicated dessert wine producer in New Zealand...
Producing great Noble Harvest Riesling needs patience and passion - lots of it. Subject to the vagaries of weather every year and multiple hand-picks, there are some vintages that can't deliver those magic raisined bunches - yet it is worth the effort and wait.
At Ngatarawa we are passionate about this wine style. It's one thing to harvest fully raisined bunches dripping with sugar and botrytis - it is another to craft a wine of delicacy and balance.
Noble Harvest Riesling has become a tradition at Ngatarawa and perhaps our signature wine. All three of our dessert wines are currently available including:
Alwyn Noble Harvest Riesling 2006 - world class, one of our best ever vintages.
Glazebrook Noble Harvest Riesling 2006 - also great and a Michael Cooper 'Classic'.
Stables Late Harvest 2004 - fantastic value and quality.
If you really like 'stickies' we urge you to invest before we sell out - particularly the reserves, Alwyn and Glazebrook.
PS. The 2007 vintage looks promising, with several batches of Noble Harvest Riesling in the pipeline. Watch this space.
