| November 2006 - GOLD MEDAL SILKS SYRAH 05 Air NZ Wine Awards NGATARAWA SILKS SYRAH 2005 sits in excellent company among 3 other gold medal Syrahs at this year's Air New Zealand Wine Awards, recognised as the pinnacle and benchmark of wine production in this country.
In fact the Gold Medal Winning Silks Syrah 2005 is remarkable value at just $19.95. The other 'Gold' Syrah's from Bridge Pa Vineyard, Passage Rock Waiheke Island and Trinity Hill range in price from $39 - $105. It is worth noting that 3 of the 4 gold medal Syrah's are all from Hawke's Bay - our home region - which is beginning to look like New Zealand's natural home of Syrah.
Silks Syrah 2004 was awarded Silver status and a 'Best Buy' in Michael Cooper's 2006 Buyers Guide to NZ Wine calling it 'a captivating red' and competitive with Aussie Shiraz in the sub $20 category.
The Ngatarawa Silks range was launched only 2 years ago to fill a niche in the under $20 wine range in grocery. It has gone from strength to strength.

Silks Merlot 2004 was awarded Silver Medals in the Liquorland Top 100 2005 and New World Wine Awards 2006.
Silks Sauvignon Blanc 2005 was also awarded 2 Silver Medals - one at Air New Zealand Wine Awards 2005 and one by Home & Entertaining magazine's Bob Campbell.
